E in the acronym of Toastmasters’ core values stands for Excellence.
Last but not least, there is Division E.
Here are few words about it, from its member Hanna Paluszkiewicz.
Let’s visit the north and central Poland and meet Division E.
If you want to try offline Toast-tourism (#ToastOnTour) it is a perfect place to go. Besides inspiring speeches and great leaders from Toastmasters clubs, everyone can find there something special – from nature, water, castles, to even delicious cookies.
You can start your Division E adventure near Baltic sea and spend some time on the beaches of Tricity. Then move on the east to the land of nature and lakes in Olsztyn. Next, go south to historical cities Bydgoszcz and Toruń, where you can buy famous gingerbread. At the end travel to the centre of Poland and walk through UNESCO city of the film – Łódź.
Without moving from home still, you can feel an excellent atmosphere of Division E clubs. Just join a hybrid meeting.
Division Director Marcin Grzeszczyk takes care of 4 areas with a total of 18 clubs with more than 320 members.
Clubs are located in 7 cities: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Łódź, Olsztyn, Sopot, Toruń
Fun facts:
None of Division E cities has E in their names.
In this area, there are 3 corporate clubs. All of them have meetings in English.
There are 10 Polish-speaking and 8 English-speaking clubs. A few clubs like Speakers of Łódź have meetings in both languages.
Area E4 is only one in the division with more meetings in English than Polish. Only Lodz Toastmasters club is fully focused on speaking in Poland’s native tongue.
Members of International Entrepreneurs from E4 are early birds. Their meetings start at 7:00 AM.
Tricity Toastmasters club during their pandemic-online meetings has gained one member based in Australia.
Area E2 and E3 include Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot so-called Tricity – a metropolitan area consisting of three almost touching cities.
Toastmasters Gdańsk is a travelling club. During the summer, every meeting takes place in a different location.
Within one week it is impossible to visit more than six clubs in the Division. On Monday the only option is Toastmasters Sopot Leaders. On Tuesday join Toastmasters Bydgoszcz or Toastmasters Gdansk. Wednesday and Thursday are full of possibilities. Thanks to morning meetings of International Entrepreneurs you may be in two clubs in different cities the same day. Friday spend with Klub Zaawansowanych Mówców Roastmasters Bydgoszcz.
Nicolaus Copernicus, a famous astronomer, lived in two cities of the division – Toruń and Olsztyn.
There are many…red bricks. Toruń, Olsztyn, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk were established as cities in the middle ages, so there are many gothic architectural monuments from that time. Łódź in XIX century had become an industrial city. Most of the neogothic red brick factories stand by this day.
